Harriett, daughter of Robert Parr and
Hannah Charity, was born 7 August 1832 at Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire, England. Harriett was baptized 24
March 1833 with sister Mariah at the St. John the Evangelist Church at
Waterbeach.Harriett's parents brought Harriett and her siblings to
North America, arriving at the New York port in 1834. The family
evetually settled near
Wardsville, Ontario by the 1842 census.
Harriett was married 5 June 1849 in _____________________________
(church?) at
_____________________ (city). The handwriting is not very clear as to the name of her first
husband; does it say Laurence Foles? or Lawrence Toles? Or does it
actually say Jerome Toles? The handwriting is that bad.
Regardless though, we do know from subsequent census records that her
husband in later years was Jerome Toles.
Jerome, son of Solomon Toles and Hannah McDonald, was born circa 1825
at New York, New York.
Harriett had 11 children; Jerome, Frederick, Duncan, Hannah J____________, Ellen, William
Arthur, George, Lucie, Frannie, Mary C__________, and Nancy.
Jerome died on 27 January 1903 from "softening of the brain" and was
buried in the _______________ Cemetery at Carsonville, Michigan.
Harriett then moved to her daughter Ellen's home at Plains, Oklahoma and
Harriett died sometime in 1904 and was buried in the Pioneer Cemetery
just south of Beaver, Oklahoma. |
