Mary died 28 November 1906 and was buried in the West Bothwell Cemetery at Bothwell,
Ontario. Her headstone has this enscription,
She was a tender mother here,
and her life the Lord did fear,
We trust our loss will be her gain,
and that with Christ she's gone to reign.
Charles remarried to Ellen Cadogan. This caused a stir because Ellen was the widow to
Charles' brother William.

Charles and Ellen had twins; Clifford Elliot and Jean. For Ellen, or Nellie as she was

Nellie would have big ginger snap cookies and butter tarts every Sunday.
